HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS
ow to Care for Your Hair Extensions
Beautiful extensions are an investment, and the way you care for them plays a major role in how they look, feel and perform over time.
Allure Hair Extensions are made with premium human hair and can be washed, styled, curled and straightened. A few simple changes to your routine can help keep them soft, smooth and beautiful for longer.
WASH WITH CARE
Wash your extensions using a gentle, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
Concentrate shampoo primarily around the scalp and roots, allowing the product to move naturally through the lengths as you rinse.
Apply conditioner through the mid-lengths and ends, avoiding the attachment areas.
Always rinse thoroughly.
KEEP YOUR EXTENSIONS HYDRATED
Unlike your natural hair, extension hair does not receive oils directly from the scalp.
Hydration is therefore especially important.
Use a lightweight leave-in conditioner or extension-friendly moisturizing product through the mid-lengths and ends whenever the hair begins to feel dry.
BRUSH GENTLY
Brush your extensions regularly using an extension-friendly brush.
Start at the ends and gradually work upward while supporting the hair near the attachment area.
Never aggressively pull through tangles.
BE SMART WITH HEAT
You can curl, straighten and blow-dry Allure Hair Extensions, but excessive heat can shorten the life of the hair.
Always use heat protection and avoid unnecessarily high temperatures.
Never apply hot tools directly to Genius Weft seams or K-Tip bonds.
SLEEP WITH YOUR HAIR PROTECTED
Never go to bed with wet extensions.
Before sleeping, gently brush your hair and secure it in a loose braid or low ponytail to reduce tangling and friction overnight.
A silk or satin pillowcase can also help minimize friction.
SWIMMING & EXERCISE
Before swimming, secure your extensions and avoid leaving them exposed to pool or salt water for extended periods.
After swimming or heavy exercise, rinse and care for the hair promptly.
Chlorine, salt, sweat and mineral buildup can affect the condition of extension hair.
GENIUS WEFT CARE
Keep the weft attachment area clean and free from heavy oils, conditioners and styling products.
Brush carefully around the rows and follow the maintenance schedule recommended by your stylist.
K-TIP CARE
Avoid applying oils, masks or conditioner directly onto the keratin bonds.
When brushing, support the hair and work carefully around each individual attachment.
Your stylist should also advise you when your K-Tips are ready for removal or replacement.
THE ALLURE ROUTINE
The secret is simple: gentle cleansing, consistent hydration, careful brushing, heat protection and professional maintenance.
Treat your extensions like luxury hair, and they’ll continue to look like luxury hair.
